“When we give girls the opportunity to come together, really powerful things can happen.”
-Anjali Gupta, Founder & CEO of School for a Village
On October 15th, 2020, our very own Anjali Gupta had the opportunity to participate as a guest speaker during Our Gorongosa’s #GirlsRunTheWorldWeek. Our Gorongosa is an amazing company that sells coffee, with 100% of the profits directed towards supporting girls’ education, wildlife conservation, and rainforest reforestation in Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique. Currently, only 11% of women in Mozambique will receive a high school diploma—with every bag of coffee sold, Our Gorongosa becomes one step closer towards reaching its ambitious goal of having 20,000 girls in Mozambique receive a high school diploma by 2035. This year, Our Gorongosa hosted an online campaign, #GirlsRunTheWorldWeek, where they aimed to amplify the voices of girls and young womxn inspiring change and making positive impacts in their communities. Alongside a roster of empowering female leaders such as Paige Nielsen, a professional soccer play for Washington Spirit, and Larissa Sousa, the Associate Director of Communication at Gorongosa National Park, Anjali was able to share her story and mission via a Facebook live.
