Anjali is an MD Candidate and Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University. She is passionate about bridging health disparities and promoting equity in education through community-centered solutions. Inspired by her grandfather’s stories of growing up in rural India, Anjali founded School for a Village when she was a sophomore in high school. Her favorite part of her role is meeting the incredible students and teachers at our partner schools!
Victor Kamugu

Victor is a STEM enthusiast with an interest in engineering design, process optimization and pedagogy. He is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, currently working as a Blending Supervisor at TotalEnergies’ Lube Oil Blending Plant in Mombasa, Kenya. He is currently serving as the Chief Operations Officer at School for a Village where he plans, coordinates and executes different projects on behalf of the organization. Victor is passionate about his role because he gets to make an impact in the education of young learners and also has the opportunity to work with an amazing team toward the common objective.
Brayden K. Leyva

Brayden holds a Master of Science degree in Integrative Biology and Physiology from the University of California, Los Angeles where he also completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Professional Writing. With a strong background in academic medicine, Brayden has over 6 years of research experience in various fields including physiology, exercise, oncology, neurodegeneration, genetics, diabetes, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). He is passionate about increasing the representation of minorities in science and is an active member of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS). Brayden is always eager to learn new things, challenge himself, and contribute to the advancement of science and society. He is a published scientist and is currently in the process of finishing several more publications. In his free time, Brayden enjoys spending time with his friends/family, trying out new restaurants around LA, building Lego sets, and playing the piano for his 2 cats, Doja and Gatsby.
Jefferson Kang'acha

Jeff is a fourth-year student and a Laidlaw Research Scholar at Cornell University pursuing a dual major in International Agriculture and Information Science. He is passionate about how social entrepreneurship, digital innovation and data-driven strategy can impact agriculture, education and financial inclusion in developing economies. His role at School for a Village focuses on developing strategy for educational technologies and experiential learning programs. Jeff previously served as the president of Teennation Africa where he co-created a youth-led digital skills training initiative and an agri-tech apprenticeship program for teenage youth in Kenya and Nigeria. Outside work, Jeff enjoys soccer, African literature, slam poetry and listening to a repertoire of musical performances in afro-fusion, hip-hop and lingala.

Ann is a student at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. She loves coding and is always driven by “programming is not about what you know it’s about what you can figure out.” She is looking forward to the day she gets to start her own Tech Hub that will mainly focus on empowering girls to venture into the tech field. She loves salsa dancing as well as meeting new people.

Leah is a student at Riara University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer science. She is passionate about helping and giving back to society by volunteering. She is the Secretary of Red Cross at her university. She loves music, outdoor activities and enjoys socializing with people.
Imran Khan

Imran is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Global Health and Microbiology. He is passionate about advocating for education programs for all, and how teaching science and technology can help foster growth in communities. Imran also serves as a Director of Food Justice and Sustainability at Slow Food and aims to help fight food insecurity through environmentally friendly methods around his university. Away from school, he likes exploring the outdoors and playing his guitar.
Mallory Woodruff

Mallory graduated from Washington University in Saint Louis with a major in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology and a minor in Children’s Studies. At WashU, she served as a peer mentor to low-income and first-generation college students. With a strong interest in public service, Mallory accepted a fellowship at a public defender’s office after graduating. She helped develop a holistic defense unit, a program that connects clients with resources to address their needs (e.g. housing, treatment, transportation). Mallory became especially interested in the marketing work while completing her fellowship, leading her to S4V! Outside of work, Mallory loves cooking, thrifting, and swimming.

Lauren graduated from Wesleyan University with a major in Science in Society and minor in Global Engagement. She is interested in community engagement such as working with children and elderly populations. Through a career in nursing, she hopes to combine her interests in the inequities of the health care system and patient interaction.
Sarah Morgan

Sarah graduated from Wesleyan University with Honors in Neuroscience and a minor in chemistry, and she is currently applying to medical school. In addition to volunteering for the American Red Cross and Planned Parenthood, she is a dance instructor and performer, who has been recruited for several television shows and one movie. She is also continuing her work with Partners for Andean Community Health, where she volunteers and shadows in Ecuadorian mobile ophthalmology clinics, providing care for indigenous patients.
